HOW TO JOIN

Before considering joining the St Augustine’s Lodge, you should realise that a firm commitment is necessary, primarily in the form of your time. We have 6 monthly meetings annually from October to April on the first Wednesday in each month, with the exception of January, most of which start at 6.00 pm and some earlier. As you progress, practice nights ( 2 prior to each Meeting ) come into play and you will be expected to attend at least one. Social Events are fun and play an important roll. Family considerations are of importance. Discuss at length your intentions with your Wife or Partner.

If you know a Member of our Lodge, "it's easy". Discuss with him at length your interest and he will elaborate on what has been stated above and point you in the right direction.

If you do not know a Member and are interested in joining our Ancient and Honourable Institution, please email the Secretary (via the Contact Page) he will be happy to give you all the help and advice that you need. He may well encourage you to attend one of our Social Events so that you can meet Members and have an informative chat.

Once you have declared a definite interest in joining our Lodge, by letter or email to the Secretary, a meeting will be arranged to discuss all the details involved, this will normally include your wife or partner, to ensure that everything is clearly explained and all parties fully understand the commitments being made, both in terms of time and financially to ensure that it will not cause any hardship or conflict in your relationship.

A proposal will then be made to the Lodge and a ballot taken before you are contacted with a date for your initiation.

If you are already a Mason and wish an Adjoining Membership, please contact our Secretary who will be pleased to assist you.
